JR. WILDCATS ARE PLAYOFF BOUND

The Jr. Wildcats powered their way into the playoffs with 4 of 5 teams taking victories from the San Joaquin Jr. Rams at St. Mary’s High School in Stockton last Saturday. The Jr. Rams are always a great opponent and this past weekend was no different.

The FJW Mighty Mites had to fight for all 4 quarters to get past the Jr. Rams, 19-7. The Mighty Mites will take on the Sheldon Jr. Huskies in the first round of the playoffs. The Jr. Pee Wee game was absolutely amazing! There were a lot of great plays on both sides of the ball from both teams and the game was not decided until the final whistle blew. The Jr. Rams had the lead 7-6 with just over 2:00 minutes remaining. FJW scored on a long run and the defense held onto that lead for a 13-7 victory. These two teams will have a rematch in the first round of the playoffs this coming Saturday. You don't want to miss that one! The Pee Wees sharpened their skills with a 24-0 victory and will play the Sheldon Jr. Huskies for their first round of the playoffs. The Jr. Midgets pitched another shut-out with a 12-0 victory over a very tough Jr. Ram Jr. Midget team. The Jr. Midgets remain in first place and will take on the number four seed Valley Jr. Vikings in their first round game. The Midgets dropped their first game of the season to a very quick Jr. Ram team, but still maintained first place in the Midget division and will take on the Sheldon Jr. Huskies in round one of the playoffs.

This is the first time in Jr. Wildcat history that all five teams have made it into the playoffs. Also, the Jr. Wildcats were very fortunate to get all five teams to be able to play at Cosumnes Oaks/Franklium Stadium, where the Jr. Wildcats are hosting the first round of playoffs. Congratulations to all of our teams and Good Luck to everyone!

All FJW players are to wear their purple and black jerseys. Please check with your head coach for exact report times, but it should be no less than 1:30 prior to game start time. Weigh-in times will be strictly adhered to.
